As the King, Bhumipol Adulyadej’s speech given on the ‘National Thai Language Day’ at the Faculty of Humanity, Chulalongkorn University, said that, “Language is one of the national tools and languages are beautiful things as in literature, we have our own unique language which has to be preserved. Some neighbouring countries have their own languages , but not as strong so they have to find the way to make it stable. We are lucky to have our own Language from ancient time,  therefore should maintain it.”  The National Thai Language Day has been marked on 29th July every year.

To commemorate the National Thai Language Day, the Thai Language Department had organized the event called, “Riangrai Likhit Pasa Thai” at the VCS Auditorium, Building 7, which was presided by Ajarn Varee Patravanich, the School Director.  This aimed to promote Thai language, how to use Thai and read Thai poem properly.  In this function, students had shown Thai traditional dancing, singing a famous Thai song ‘Poom Jai Therd Ti kerd Pen Thai: Be proud to be Thai’ and listening to the speech given by an educator, Arjarn Sanan Dhammathi,.

The Centre for the Promotion of Art and Culture and the Radio Presenter for ‘Lanna heritage’ had joined the event to share on Thai topic ‘Thai heritage, Thai Language : Local Language’.

At the end of the event, all Mattayom teachers came out as the highlight of the event dressing in famous Thai literature characters such as; Pra Apai Manee, Lilit Pra Lor, Khun Chang Khun Pan, Mattanapata and Inao. The students had been very surprised and enjoyed to see their teachers in different characters.
